Wander while we wonder.

The Peneda-Gerês National Park is a unique and vast destination, impossible to fully explore in just one day. Its true magic lies in its enchanted forests, which require long hikes to be fully appreciated. However, on this tour, I take you to my personal highlights—places I carefully selected after visiting the park dozens of times and falling in love with its natural beauty.

We depart from Porto towards the Sanctuary of São Bento da Porta Aberta, where we get the first glimpse of the park’s grandeur. Next, we stop at the Caniçada Marina, a peaceful spot with stunning views, perfect for enjoying a coffee before our adventure.

Our next stop is the Arado Waterfall, one of my personal favorites. A short 800-meter walk takes us to this magical hidden gem. Then, we head to the Pedra Bela Viewpoint, where you’ll find one of the most iconic panoramic views of Gerês.

After taking in the breathtaking landscapes, we descend to Vila do Gerês for a traditional lunch featuring the best local flavors. In the afternoon, we cross the mystical Mata da Albergaria, following the banks of the Homem River, and continue to Lóbios, in Spain.

To bid farewell to the park in style, we visit the Lindoso Castle and its impressive granaries, symbols of the region’s rich agricultural traditions.
