Discover Aveiro as you’ve never imagined—without forced comparisons. This city stands on its own, full of culture, tradition, and breathtaking landscapes.

We depart from Porto towards the Barra Lighthouse, one of the tallest in the Iberian Peninsula, for a short seaside walk. Then, we head to Costa Nova, famous for its iconic striped houses and authentic fish market.Upon arriving in Aveiro, enjoy a 45-minute “Moliceiro” boat ride along the canals while learning about the salt pans, their workers, and local traditions. Next, savor a typical lunch featuring the region’s best flavors.

During the early afternoon we immersed ourselves in an exploration of downtown Aveiro, discovering some of its secrets, as well as some of the curiosities of this wonderful country. Of course, no visit is complete without tasting Ovos Moles, the city’s most famous sweet. For those interested, there’s an optional visit to the Aveiro Cathedral and Aveiro Museum, home to the tomb of Princess Saint Joana.

On our way back to Porto, we stop at the stunning Senhor da Pedra Chapel, a mystical chapel built on the rocks of Miramar Beach.
